Britomart is an important part of Auckland with a unique heritage of history, culture and architecture. Once neglected, it has emerged as a vibrant mixed-use community.  Lying between the Waitemata Harbour and Auckland’s lower CBD, Britomart is a waterfront precinct of heritage buildings, new developments and open and intimate public spaces. It is immediately adjacent to Auckland’s main transport hub, Britomart Transport Centre.  Today Britomart is a busy and diverse mix of restaurants, bars, boutiques, offices and services, with over 100 businesses now in the precinct. Britomart continues to grow and evolve as more and more people and companies join the community.  There are close to 250 businesses based here contributing to the 24/7 buzz of Britomart. http://britomart.org/

CHEAP EATS

Auckland Night Markets are in seven different locations across Auckland. The markets are free.  Food is the big component, where you can sample cuisine from dozens of different cultures, but there is plenty of fashion, toys and lots of interesting sights and smells to tempt the senses! There are of course the ethnic favourites like Thai and Chinese, and for those looking for something different, there are some rare delicacies on offer from most regions of the world.  http://aucklandnightmarkets.co.nz/

Great food is not always about the money. In fact, in many cuisines, the locals eat out regularly, so it has to be cheap.  Cheap Eats has sought out those places which offer well-cooked, fresh, great-tasting food at a reasonable cost.  Our budget is $20 for a main, not including drinks. If it is a tapas/nibbles places, then it is $20 for enough food to feel full. Many places we’ve reviewed are much cheaper than the maximum set. http://cheapeats.co.nz
