BUILD-UP TIMES

When can I set up my stand?
Friday 27th August - 8am - 6pm
Saturday 28th August - 8am - 6pm

If you have heavy equipment that needs to be brought in by forklift and need access before the carpet has been laid, please contact Ulrike Masina prior to build-up.

SHOW HOURS

Sunday, 29th August 9am – 6pm
Monday, 30th August 9am – 6pm
Tuesday, 31st August 9am – 4pm

What time can I get in to prepare my stand each day?
Access with security passes is permitted 1 hour prior to show opening. Exhibitors will be required to vacate the pavilions 5 minutes after the close of each show day.

BREAKDOWN TIMES

What are the breakdown times?
The pulling down or removal of equipment from stands is not permitted before 4pm on Tuesday 31st August.
Everything must be removed by 12 noon , Wednesday, 1st September.

Tuesday, 31st August 4.00pm – 9.00pm
Wednesday, 1st September 8.00am – 12noon

EXHIBITOR BADGES

How do I organize name badges for the staff working on my stand?
If you can, enter staff names for security badges at the same time as you enter your buyers guide data at: www.giftfairs.co.nz/catalogue as it is easier not to forget to do it. You will need a user name and password. Contact Ulrike if you have lost your password or need help. You can login again and enter your badge names closer to the show. The deadline for printing the buyers guides is several weeks earlier than the lead time we require for printing badges. Deadlines TBC. You can also get minor changes or additions printed at reception during show build-up.

Will they be sent out prior to the show? 
No. On arrival at the exhibition for buildup, check your stand. There you will find a white envelope, containing your exhibitor security badges. Please check them immediately and see us for any changes at the Information Desk.

What information do I need to supply about my company for visitors at the show?
As part of your show package, every exhibitor is entitled to one stand listing in buyers guide. Enter your details here www.giftfairs.co.nz/catalogue prior to the deadline. Deadlines TBC. You will need your username and password - contact Ulrike if you have lost your password or need help.

EFTPOS / INTERNET OR PHONE LINES?

How can I get eftpos on my stand?
Eftpos is available from Eftpos Technologies   Lines must be ordered prior to the event. 

How can I get a phone or internet line on my stand?
Phone Lines need to be arranged by Telecom.  Just dial 126 and ask for a temporary phone line.  Give them the venue address, your stand number and a contact number.  Phone & Internet lines must be organized at least one week prior to the show.   Connection Order Form PDF [43 KB]

Is there free internet access available at the show?
Unfortunately there is no free internet access available at the venue.  You will need to either organize a dial-up or jetstream line from Telecom or you can purchase wireless connection from ASB Showgrounds.   Register for Wireless access at ASB Showgrounds by visiting www.asbshowgrounds.co.nz/wireless.html and click the “GET WIRELESS INTERNET ACCESS HERE NOW” link. 

PANELS, CARPET, POWER & LIGHTING

Where can I order extra Lighting Power?
This can be ordered through Show Light & Power.  Please make sure that you pre order your requirements.  Please note that you will be charged directly from Show Light and Power for any additional items.    PDF Format Show Light & Power order form »

Can I get an extra light or powerpoint at the show?
Show Light and Power will be available during build up of the show.  Make sure you get your additional requirements during build up.   

Where can I get extra panels or carpet?
Extra panels and carpet are available from Exhibition Hire Services but items may not be available unless pre ordered. PDF Format  Form to change panel or carpet »

Can I change the colour or my panels or carpet?
Yes you can but there is a small fee for this service.  You will need to complete either the Panel or Carpet change out form and send to Exhibition Hire Services.  Please note that changes may not be available at the show unless previously ordered. PDF Format  Form to change panel or carpet colour »

What is the thickness of the panels?
The panels are 4.4cm thick.

Can I nail or screw items to the panels?
Definitely not.  Please do not screw or nail any items to the panels.  This would be considered damage and you would be charged for any damage to the panels. Art hooks and Velcro for attaching signage etc to your stand can be purchased from Exhibition Hire Services during build up. Please go to their desk located in the Main Foyer.

Can I cut the carpet?
No – absolutely not.  You would be charged the cost of a new carpet tile if the carpet is damaged.  If you would like your carpet tiles removed please contact Dominique Harris, Exhibition Hire, on 64 9 579 9884.

BUILDING CONSENTS

Do I need building consent for my stand?
As show organisers, we have to ensure that all aspects of our events satisfy the current Auckland City Council building and compliance standards.
If your answer is yes to any of the following questions, please get in contact with Nick Batty who will be able to confirm whether any further action is required. We are more than happy to discuss your situation individually and assist in addressing compliance issues accordingly. The Auckland City Council have a '20 day approval process' turn around therefore it is imperative that we are advised of any stand variations ASAP to ensure any necessary permits are obtained.

  • Is your company building their own stand?
  • Are you using a Design and Build contracting company?
  • Is your stand using double height panels or are you building above the standard 2.3m stand height?
  • Will your stand have any LPG and/or Pellet Fires

What is the venue address?
ASB Showgrounds ( formerly the Auckland Showgrounds) are at 217 Greenlane Road. Map »

Do I need a Car Park Pass to park during show days?
Parking for exhibitors during show days will be at the top of Arena Carpark (entrance through Gate B).  You will need your Exhibitor Badge to gain free entry to the car park.  Please note that this is on a first come first served basis.  Your Exhibitor Badges are available for you to COLLECT during the Build Up days from the Exhibitor Information Desk in the main Foyer.

Alternatively, Alexandra Car Park is available to all our exhibitors & visitors.  Please note that Alexandra Car Park is run independently and therefore a $6 charge applies.  Also Wilson Parking across the road from the showgrounds is available on the weekends, a $5 charge applies. There is also free parking available on Puriri Drive.

Where can I store empty boxes or other items?
We have limited storage facilities onsite.  Please enquire at Show Information for locations.

Are there any special requirements about goods arriving from overseas?
Any shipping container from overseas that is transported directly from the wharf to ASB Showgrounds, must be accompanied by the correct documentation. The container can only be opened by a MAF Approved Accredited Person. The showgrounds have Accredited Persons on site to inspect containers if required.
